Yacht Discovery is a purpose-built steel ketch previously run by The ocean Youth Trust and known as John Laing. The vessel was bought by Venture Sailing's owner, Andy Kinnaird, in 2016 and after a winter refit, she'll begin her 2017 Summer programme.
MCA Cat 0 coded, the vessel will be circumnavigating the British Isles for a month between mid August and mid September. The entire voyage will be split over 3 legs of approximately 10 days each, allowing crew to join and leave dependent on their availability.
A single leg will cost from £1,299 per berth.
Allowing four weeks for what is normally a voyage of two weeks or less, allows us to stop en route and explore some of Britain's more hidden gems including the beautiful Western Isles including Islay with her World-famous malt whiskey distilleries, as well as Ireland, Edinburgh and the South West of England.
Discovery will be sailing into busy ports as well as spending nights in remote bays, skippered by a Yachtmaster Instructor with a Yachtmaster Ocean as mate.
