Ocean racing Gauss sleeping bag as recommended by Clipper racing.
This is an exceptional sleeping bag with maximum flexibility for different legs. Insulated waterproof nylon outer bag. Separate removable fleece lined inner. Comes complete with pillow and carry bag. This is a non-taper sleeping bag so allows fuller range of movement. Also fully opens so can be used as blanket or sheet to lie on. A few marks but overall good condition. Can post in the UK or you’re welcome to pick-up - I’m 45mins from Portsmouth. Might be able to drop off at Clipper for the right price!

Owned by a RTWer who only wore shorts all the way around on the 2022/23 race. This is not most people. So, this bag has spent all its time in the original vacuum packed bag it was mailed in - unopened - tucked away in a dark corner of the boat unexposed to water or sunlight. Should be well preserved. Used infrequently on legs 7 & 8. Dry cleaned and stored - very small mark on outer cover. Fully working zips and fabulous as new bag.

This is the best ocean wear offer, this is not the cheaper mummy bag but the much more expensive and warmer rectangular version. It also can be opened out like a large blanket. It is a standard size but I would describe it as large. Please see photos and condition description below. More photos available on request. Bought for 2011/12 Clipper race but has been stored in smoke free home since. The sleeping bag has been used, but inner fleece part has been washed and is in very good condition. The pillow has some sign of wear. Since washing the inner label of the pillow case has started to disintegrate (white bits). Outer waterproof sleeping bag has some sign of wear (including salt damage to zip) but it is still fully functioning and waterproof. The carry bag also has some sign of wear and salt damage to the zip but still works. Item will require courier, costs to be agreed.
Carefully used without visible wear or blemishes. Minor stains without surface damages. Added initials "CW" written on inside. Customised velcro detachable upgrade for remarkably improved user experience. Free (red & black) compression straps system included, to reduce packing size by 40%.
Manufacturer doesn't supply any user manual but best packing techniques will be supplied. Fully clothed, including socks when in use (only during Legs 2, 3, 6 & 8) ie I haven't slept naked in it. Size is small which worked fine for me (5ft 8in). I couldn't have imagined crossing the North Pacific without it. Definitely improved moral to know I would be warm and cozy during the bitter cold nights. I also bought this used and was in good working condition except for the zipper that attaches the inner 2 sleeping liners to the outer plastic liner. This didn't affect me when using it as it still is fully zipped on the inside. But be aware that one side will not zip to connect the outer liner. Item ships from the United States. LOW PRICE!
